I believe with all of my heart that the best way to not live sinfully is to live holy. For the purpose of this post we can say it this way: the best way to keep from loving our wives the wrong way is to love them the right way. And I try to keep this blog focused on the positive. But I came across a picture a few days ago that I feel I must share with you. You see, focusing on what we should be doing is definitely the way to go. But we cannot neglect the discipline of deny the lusts of our flesh. I’ve not talked much (if any) of pornography, but it is a huge killer in any marriage. (Side Note: If you do not understand your life in light of Eph. 1 and 2 and how your sinful choices impact your life, adding another ‘don’t’ to your life will only set you up to fail once again)
Proverbs speaks much of the strange woman. She is deceitful, putrid, whorish and hellish . . . . and I have found a picture of her. You know how a picture can be worth a thousand words? Well this one definitely is. See the look of conquest in her eyes. Notice the look of contentment as he snuggles into her. When you are looking at porn, you are making love to the rotted, filthy corpse of pornea. Ponder the picture below and read through Proverbs 5, 7 and 9 this week and pray that the Lord would show you what the sin of pornography really looks like.
